A Peek at Week #4

Welcome to Week 4 in Lake Ontario!

The students in Lake Ontario are having one amazing week after another.  Almost everyone is able to find what center he/she needs to go to, with just a little help from Mrs. Pizzo or myself.  Week 4 found me finishing up some assessments with students at my directive table and looking around the room at students who were on task and working.  I couldn't be more proud of  this class.

Here are some highlights of centers from week #4:

Putting together a brand new Chicka Chicka Boom Boom puzzle.
(Thank you to all of the parents who ordered books from our last Scholastic order.  Because of your orders, I was able to get an extra $15 which allowed me to "buy" the puzzle for our class.)

Using homemade playdough (courtesy of Mr. Lattea) to make the names of all of the students in our classroom.

Sorting letters on the pocket chart

The Power of the Clipboard

The students love doing the "Write the Room" center.  They attach a paper to the clip board.  Then walk around the room to find "hidden" pictures.  When they find a picture, they write the word or beginning sound or a letter.

Thank you for visiting our classroom this week.
